NCLEX-PN requirement and other option

Published

Hi,

I would like to inquire about the possibility of a Registered Nurse from the Philippines to sit for the NCLEX-PN. What are the requirements to be eligible for NCLEX-PN? Does my Bachelors in Nursing degree plus my being a registered nurse from the Philippines qualify me to take up the NCLEX-PN exam? And once passing the NCLEX-PN, will I be qualified for a job placement in the US, I mean will I be given a US working permit/visa after passing the NCLEX-PN? I'm currently considering NCLEX-PN as a first priority before NCLEX-RN because I heard that NCLEX-PN is much easier than NCLEX-RN.

Also, as my other option, I'm currently studying a 2 year course (BSc (Hons) International Nursing) in a university in the UK. With an approved actual hands on placement in a care home facility, will this ever qualify me for some nursing accreditation acceptable there in the US where I can apply for a suitable nursing job?

I respectfully need your feedback, comments and suggestion.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to inquire directly through your website.

Sincerely,

Shirly

Moved to the International forum. Good luck with finding an answer to your query!

PN doesn't meet immigration requirements for the US so I would suggest you concentrate on RN license rather than PN license.

Also to point out you are not applying for NCLEX but to be licensed in the US NCLEX is just a part of that process

Passing the NCLEX has nothing to do with getting a work visa. You still have to apply for a Green Card, which takes years.
