NCLEX PN Feb 8. Tips and Advice !?!?

Published

Greetings to my fellow nurses here at allnurses!. I am taking the boards this coming 8th of February. FYI i started to review/answer questions since November but never really got consistent with the hours and Q&A. Currently I've answered at least 2000 questions (1500 Saunders and 500 from different sources) and i'm currently averaging 150-200 questions per day till the test day comes close. I know that everyone reviews in a different way but any vibes and advice would be appreciated !!

Wishing all luck to everyone taking NCLEX LPN/RN!

Looks like you are doing everything you need to do to pass. I took PN nclex 2 years ago and remember doing a bunch of questions and doing alot of praying. I passed with 85 questions!!

Also I studied the Kaplan strategies review

Bryan,

I took my test this morning 8am Az time. I used the Kaplan test bank, booklet for PN. In addition used the test strategies from the Kaplan RN as they were the best to really understand. I couldnt use Saunders because I used it throughout my program to study for my regular tests. I can tell you how many questions I practiced but will tell you this I walked out of the exam feeling confident. I shut off at 106 question..did the PVT twice and go the 'good' screen (I couldnt re-register to take the test). I got many questions that were dead on to the ones I practiced with the test bank! It was worth every penny and I will use it again for my RN!!!!

P.S Did I mentioned I prayed before during and after the test?. Prayer helps!

Thank you. About to hit my 2100 in saunders took a day off from questions last night because I felt like nothing was coming in. In a lil bit shaken but all is good.

Bryan,

Good luck! I passed! The PVT is tried and true:-). Best thing you can get from Saunders was the testing strategies. The questions dont prepare you much for the type of questions you will face on the NCLEX-PN. I highly suggest you go to www.kaptest.com, purchase the qbank for PN It was dead on for the type of question you will face on that exam.

I've heard good things about Lacharity , Kaplan ,ETC. i stopped saunders at the moment and bought exam cram questions today. Man, i had soo much wrongs , im averaging 21 rights out of 50 questions. and im less than 10 days from the big day. I dont want to be discouraged, although im not confident enough, im not scared.

so what do you guys have to say ?

I recently took nclex, and I thought it was very comparable to Kaplan. I was getting at least 60% correct on question trainers and qbanks. In my opinion, Kaplan focused a lot on prioritization, and this is vital to master before taking the exam (in my opinion).

Edit - I just realized you are taking the nclex-pn. I took the rn version of the test. At any rate, I felt as though Kaplan prepared me well.
