NCLEX PN & PVT 2016

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I graduated from my VN course in September 2015, and have been contemplating when I would take my NCLEX. I was very hesitant and anxious, because I wanted to make sure that I pass it the first time I take it. Shortly after graduation my school offered a live 3 day ATI review which also allows you to have 12 weeks of their virtual classroom and they assign you to a coach to help you along the way, until you reach your green light to test. I wasn't very dedicated to it in the beginning, because all I can think about was, "yes!! I'm finally done with school!" My 12 weeks passed and I still didn't receive my green light, so I paid a discounted fee for another 12 weeks. This time I was focused and studying 5-6 days a week for at least 2-4 hours. Once I finally received my green light, I scheduled my test, which was April 1st. Prior to my test date, I took a week off from work to do some

hard core studying. I kid you not, it was crazy! My stress and anxiety levels were insane.

The day before my test day, I made sure to relax, like everyone I talked to advised. I got a 90 minute massage and made sure I had plenty of rest and drank plenty of h2O.

TEST DAY aka Doomsday (haha)

My test was scheduled for 1:30pm (I'm from California by the way). I arrived about 45 minutes early and sat in my car for about 10-15 mins to allow myself to do some deep, pursed lip breathing to calm my nerves. When I stepped into the Pearson Vue testing center, I was 30 mins early and there were no computers available. So I sat and waited for maybe 5-10 mins. Then finally got registered and was brought into the testing room to my computer. I'm glad there were headphones available so I can block out the background noise since there were other test takers in the room.

After 2 hours of agony, my test stopped at 85 questions!! They were tough!! And 80% of my test were SATA back to back!! I would be surprised when I got a normal multiple choice question. I remember getting one dosage calculation and one drag and drop. Everything else was a blur! At that moment, when the computer stopped at 85 questions I knew I failed. I was just dazed and confused afterwards. I sat in my car puzzled for about 30 mins. I finally took my phone and texted my nurse friends and told them I just got done. They suggested that I try the Pearson Vue trick when I got home. I was so scared to even try! I didn't wanna get the bad pop up!

When I got home, I gave in and tried the trick. Based on all the PVT 2016 information I read on this website, it said to enter all my information, including the credit card information and to risk paying the $200 fee once hitting submit. I took the risk, and as soon as I hit "submit" I got the pop up stating, "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam...." -- which is the GOOD POP UP!! I then took a picture of it and texted it to my nurse friends, they said I passed, based on that good pop up!! I hope so!!! I tried again 24 hours later, then 48 hours, and then 72 hours. The good pop up still remains.

It's been 14 days exactly today, and I still haven't received a letter in the mail. But i'm keeping my fingers crossed!! It's unfortunate that California does not participate in the quick results. I wish they did, because I can't stop thinking about the test to this day!! I just want my results already!! Haha!

Hi im on the same boat as you, i took my nclex on the 28th of april in Pasdena. I got the good pop up too! Im freakin out for my results. I hope all goes well. Keep me posted on ur results!

I got my results this past Friday and I passed!! My 2 friends who took their test got the good pop up too and both passed. So I'm sure you passed!!! :)

Omg! Congrats ! Im happy to hear you passed and your friends did as well, gives me some hope on thr pvt. Good luck to your new career in being a nurse!

Hi. I took the NCLEX-PN on July 11,2016. I'm not even sure what number of questions my computer stopped at cause after 85 I just kept answering until a few questions after it just shut down. So I would say I probably stopped at 90. Is there a good chance of failing or passing at that rate? I remember having 2 drag and drop. 1 calculation which was a confusing question, honestly. (I reread it so much that after the exam I can still remember the question and still tried solving it. Haha!) I had one EKG strip. I had a couple of SATA. Everything else I don't even remember. It just felt like the questions were so simple but hard to answer. Idk if I just didn't study harder or it's my anxiety that's causing that. I used the NCSBN review btw. Took the 5-week course. Just did purely questions as advised by my friends who passed the RN. (I can't take RN in Cali cause I still have to do more units. Graduated BSN in Phil.)

Anyways so after the exam I know there are no Quick Results in Cali and I've read some trends about the PVT. I was skeptical to do it cause I'm so scared that I'll get the bad pop up. Haha. But today I'm so anxious that I can't wait for the results. Does it take 3 or 4 weeks? Idk.

So, I tried it this morning (3 days after my exam) I used a valid debit card but it had less than $200 in it. I entered my info submitted my order and got the Good pop up! Saying that "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration can not be made at this time. I probably clicked the submit order button a hundred times to make sure. :roflmao: DOes this "possibly" mean that I passed? Even tho my card had insufficient funds? I don't want to rely on the PVT but it'll give me some peace of mind while waiting for the actual results! Thanks.

I'm guessing you passed 'cause you haven't posted any other comments! Congradulations! YEAAAA
