NCLEX passer and port of entry

Published

I just passed my application form to the CA BON last month and it will take 4-6 months to process it. I already received the confirmation card. I plan to take the NCLEX in Hongkong once I receive my ATT early next year. I have a US tourist visa already. Will I have any problems in the port of entry once I go to the US for a vacation next year afte passing NCLEX? I heard that one NCLEX passer was denied entry to the US as a tourist when her fingerprint record showed that she has passed the NCLEX. Have you heard similar cases like this?

not sure but I have since visited the US since passing NCLEX and had no problems with immigration.

I don't know if this is an isolated situation. Eventhough I have a US tourist visa already, I'm still thinking of taking NCLEX in HK since the airfare is much cheaper if I go to HK for the exam rather then going to the US. I hope someone can enlighten me regarding my dilemna.

If you are planning to take NCLEX in the U.S. via tourist visa and have the intention to stay there or adjust status later on...that would be a problem. Provisions of the Real I.D. Act can ban you permanently from entering the U.S. once you get out of status or proven that you have fraudulent intent to stay there and not "JUST TOUR".

The Philippines is one of the top countries that has the highest rate of tourists "NOT COMING BACK"...this is the reason why the U.S. Embassy in Manila is so strict on other Filipinos.

Well Hong Kong is cheap as you said. And go to the normal process of obtaining a green card...
