NCLEX License

hi everyone.... i've done some reading and i'd like to know if what i've read is correct. if one passes the california nclex exam, the license/card will not be issued to the person if she or he is not physically present in the u.s. am i right? if so, what are the states that will issue you the license/card? i'm asking because if one applies to other states thru/via endorsement, some states require you to submit your license number. how can you provide that information if you obtained your license in california and you will not be issued the license/card?

If you have your license with CA and want to endorse then you apply to the state you want to work in to endorse and complete forms for license but ask CA to pass on your NCLEX results. I would suggest trying the search facility with keywords as :)

i passed CA BON and my licence was sent to me to Atlanta approximately 10 days after my nclex exams and i applied for endorsement in GA BON which i got after like 2months.so i'll say that you need to have US address where they need to send the licence.i guess!goodluck.

it is all to do with SSN and until in the US with a valid visa they can't get one so have to wait until in the USand applied for and recieved it

The thing is that i have an aunt that came here with visiting visa and she doesnt have ssn but will take nclex next month after that she has already seen a hospital that will file for her to get her green card afterwards that i certainly know but what i dont know is other stories behind the questionaires case.

The thing is that i have an aunt that came here with visiting visa and she doesnt have ssn but will take nclex next month after that she has already seen a hospital that will file for her to get her green card afterwards that i certainly know but what i dont know is other stories behind the questionaires case.

there is currently no way for her to file to stay in the US even if she finds a employer, all that can be filed at the moment is I140 which does not give leave to stay in the US. She will need to go home and wait for petition there. Suggest you read about retrogression

Some states will give license without SSN but CA is not one of them

She is still under the retrogression and will not get further than the I-140. And if she came here with the tourist visa, she needs to make sure that she does not overstay her visa, or she will not get anything adjusted. She cannot have anything submitted until she has passed the NCLEX exam. A facility cannot even legally offer her a job until she has passed that exam. Then there are specific requirements that need to be met before anything can be filed. She will be able to get the I-140 submitted, but nothing more, and without the AOS being accepted, she cannot remain in the US past the date on her I-94 in her passport.

Does not matter what the facility will do, but the issue is with US immigration. If she overstays a visa, then there is nothing to be done. You cannot adjust a visa that is not current. She needs to rethink what she is doing or will be subject to deportation.

And does not matter if US address, if CA is not supplied with a SSN#, they will not issue a license.

And one way to get the SSN# is by finding an employer who will grant/give you a job offer? Is that the way it goes?

nope, you can't get SSN until in the US with a valid visa and you have to show proof of said visa

Getting the SSN# is the final step in the immigration process, and the last one to do before you actually begin to work. An employer has nothing to do with you getting the SSN# directly, you have to be the one to apply for it in person once you are in the US on a visa that will permit you to work.
