NCLEX: Kaplan Question Bank or UWorld?

I was just wondering which one is better to use to help prepare for the NCLEX. Really want to pass the first time!!! Hearing great things about both question banks. I like how Kaplan offers a money back guarantee if you don't pass, but I also hear UWorld has better rationales.

Don't quote me but I think the Kaplan money back guarantee isn't for the QBank, but if you do one of the courses.

Anyway, I had both Kaplan QBank and UWorld QBank. I did all of UWorld and some of Kaplan (maybe around 600). Yes, UWorld hands down has the best rationales. They are MUCH more in depth. You get rationales for all choices. It's a very good content review in that way, as you really understand why an answer is correct and why the others aren't. With Kaplan, the rationales really aren't detailed at all. It's usually a short sentence for each choice, and some will have a rationale that says, essentially, "this is not correct".

Also, with UWorld, you can break up the questions in many ways, including by subject and the client needs breakdown. So if I only want to do Maternity questions or Critical Care questions, I can do that. With Kaplan, it's only by the client needs breakdown. If you don't need to focus your questions in specific content subject areas, that may not be that big of a deal.

So if I had to choose, I'd go with UWorld.

I had both Kaplan and UWorld. My school used Kaplan so I didn't have a choice. I hated it! Rationales were short and lacking. I studied for a month after graduating for 6 hours 5 days a week. I finished the whole Kaplan, took the nclex but failed at 133 questions. So I decided to purchase UWorld for a month and committed myself for same amount of time as Kaplan. I finished all the questions averaging 60%. I passed the nclex at 75 questions. I would highly recommend UWorld. My advise to you is Don't use so many studying materials, it's just going to confuse you.
