Are you on F1 visa attending nursing school or are you studying a different major and happen to be a nurse in your home country?

Thank you for the rely. I'm a nurse and have my RN license back there in Nepal. N I'm in USA with my f1 visa studying psychology in one of the uni . I want my credential to be evaluated and then apply to nysed to get an RN of New York. But I'm in doubt that it might get me in trouble since my visa status is f1. And will not get a permit though If I pass my nclex. Should I again start with my associate degree. but I don't want to study in any major except nursing.

Why are you here studying psychology if you want to work as a nurse? Undergraduate psychology won't qualify many jobs. Counseling requires a minimum of a masters plus supervised clinical training (LPC) or a doctorate (PsyD or PhD) plus supervised clinical practice.

You may throw up some flags when you apply for a nursing license and credential evaluation with an F1 visa in an unrelated field. You won't qualify for work permit as a nurse while studying psychology. You need to discuss with your school's office for international students as you don't want to jeopardize your F1 student status and perhaps an experienced immigration attorney as it seems you wish to work in the US
