i am in nursing school now and my teacher is also a us imagrant from the pi. she told us she had to take the boards in nj which is where she planned to practice nursing. i am not too sure on the details but i know she had to do everything over here. (except school of course) i would contact your states doh and ask them exactally what you would have to do. good luck!

as far as i know only saipan accepts those without local board exams because they dont ask for your license number (which will be given by the PRC of the philippines if you took the local board exam), i know some students who failed the local board exam and still pursue their NCLEX for Saipan....try to look at their application form for more details and for clarification....

A lot will depend on where you plan on working. If the state requires a local license then they may still require it even if you go to another state first for application. Even when endorsing license most have to still meet foreign nurse requirements and if that requires a local license then it has to be done. You may want to consider taking it anyway

Also remember you are not applying for NCLEX but license to be a RN NCLEX is just a part of that process
