Need feedback Please! ATI testing

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I am a student nurse and was asked to sit in on a commitee about the nursing program curriculum. This meeting had a representative from a company that provided NCLEX type of testing each semester and covered each area covered in a nursing program (Med-Surg, Peds, etc). The company was called Assessment Technologies Institute. They asked my opinion about the program following the presentation.

It would cost student over $450 extra for the program books, and would make the student have to sit for an hour or two extra for testing each semester. But, I sort of liked their online pre-testing options (that showed rationals) and knowing that what we are getting taught is going to actually help us when we sit for the NCLEX.

So, I am wondering if any of you had this kind of testing at your school and what you thought about it? Right now, my school has a 99% pass record. So, Please let me know what you all know about the program and what you think about it!

THANKS!

It does also use the same testing format, so at least when you sit at the computer to take NCLEX it is familiar.

From what I was told about the program, that cost does cover the entire program. My school decided to not require the ATI for the students throughout the program, but they do use ATI for their comprehensive exam in our final semester to help pinpoint those areas where we are weak.

Good luck with your program!
