Nclex autism questions

Published

hello all! i'm doing a peds project on autism. I'm suppose to make up 5 of my own nclex questions about autism. My instructor is going to use these questions to test other students for our next test. So far I came up with 4, but I think I made them too easy. I need one more but I want it to be challenging can someone help? thanks

  1. A child is diagnosed with having autism. Which clinical manifestations may be noted? Select all that apply

    [*=3]inability to maintain eye contact
    [*=3]repetitive body movements
    [*=3]inability to express themselves
    [*=3]Normal nonverbal communication
    [*=3]Hallucinations

2. Repetitive behaviors are common in children with autism. What are some examples of repetitive behaviors? Select all that apply

  1. Language delays
  2. Limited function play
  3. Flapping their hands
  4. Avoiding body contact
  5. Spinning in circles

3. Which of the following regarding autism is true?

[*=3]Etiology of the disease is unknown
[*=3]The symptoms are the same from person to person
    [*=3]It's curable
[*=3]Their able to interact with people

  1. Impaired skin integrity

Perhaps you could create a question about a nursing intervention or an evaluation of an intervention. " A parent asks for advice about ______. " The prudent nurse answers, "________." Or the nurse understands that an intervention has been effective when ________.

Specializes in SICU, trauma, neuro.

Which of the following statements from a parent indicate a knowledge deficit? And then come up with 3 truths about autism and 1 misconception.

"Check all that apply" makes questions more challenging.

Also note what your text/lectures have said; you want everyone to be able to answer them. There's no sense throwing in a question about neurobiological stuff that the text doesn't address, just to make it more challenging
