NCLEX application

I am currently reviewing for NCLEX, anyone here who applied for it on their own? kindly share the procedures please. thank you.

i just got my fingerprint card today from California Board of Nursing, i'm still thinking if i should apply NCLEX in CA. i read in their site that this cost $32 each, how should i pay for this if i decided not to apply with them?

For 1st timers or for initial licensure they only require 1 (the DOJ Sacramento card) and 2 (DOJ+FBI) if appying thru license by endorsement.

Sometimes the personnel doing this includes both f.cards but you only need 1.

Some receive just 1 and no problem at all with that.

Total should be only $107 ($75 application fee + $32 for the background check)

how long can i delay to register at pearson vue after i got eligibility letter from the CON? i heard its like 2 years.. is it true? thanks!!!1

Is it okey to take NCLEX in california even without taking CGFNS exam? And if ever I pass CA-NCLEX can i work in other state?

Please take the time to read this forum. We do not recommend Ca for initial licensure as they will destroy your file after 3 years unless you provide them with a SSN which you will not get unless in the US with a valid work visa and with retrogression you are looking at longer than 3 years. Only a handful of states now require CGFNS exam although a lot do require CES from CGFNS. Depending on state you may be able to apply for licensure if you have a license or passed NCLEX from another state but some have new requirements and require 2 years experience in the state you initially licensed in (Florida comes to mind) Also if you do go with Ca and then want to endorse you can't as Ca will not give you a license but also they do their own assessment so when you go to another state you will still have to meet any new requirements for foreign trained nurse.

You are not applying for NCLEX but to be a RN in the US of which NCLEX is a part of that process. You will not see the name as NCLEX application but licensure application

Thank you for the information. Can you identify states that released license without SSN? Is it true that NM is one but needs to pass English Exams first before you can tale the Licensure.?

You will have to take the time and look at the BON websites. Many employers are not even looking at foreign nurses at the moment plus with a few years waiting you have more than enough time to check websites or even this forum

Uh oh. I just passed my Application for Examination to California a week ago. But I heard that if you pass the exam...and your 3 years (to acquire a SSN#) is up, you can write to them a letter of appeal to extend the 3 years deadline. Example...stating that because of retrogression, you haven't been issued a visa yet..... How true is that?

We have had members extend their file with Ca on an annual basis but there is no guarantee they will do so
