nclex anxiety

Published

Hi all, I recently took my nclex(yesterday) and it was one of the hardest tests that I have ever taken in my life! I felt completely lost. Thier were illnesses and medications that I haven't even heard of before. The computer shut off at around 103 questions. I am so frustrated right now. In my heart I know I failed. I don't think I will be able to take his exam again if I truly failed it. It is impossible to study for it, you have to basically know everything about everything and thats just ridiculous. The drugs that were on the test I've never heard of them, you would think that they would ask about the most commonly prescribed drugs but that was not the case. it's sad to think that I have struggled so hard and sacrifice so much to make it through nursing school to now have to have this road block in my way. I have been in bed crying the whole day, becoming a nurse has been the most difficult thing I have ever had to deal with and frankly right now I am questioning if I am truly built for this profession.

ohh! i know how you feel, but dont loose your hope! pls check it out PVT trick and find out first how you do in your EXAm..!hope you PASS and GOODLUCK!!

If you want to be a nurse bad enough, you will make it happen not matter what. Have a little faith in yourself. You worked hard through out nursing school and you were able to pass the tests and make it to this point. You have what it takes to pass the NCLEX. I really hope that you did pass your NCLEX but if you didn't that is okay too. You try, you fail, you try, you fail, but the only true faliure is if you stop trying. Just saying. You have it in you to make it happened.

When I took my NCLEX I had a mix of emotions. While answering questions some I felt good about, others I felt so-so about, and others made me want to break down and just cry. I know that there really isn't away to study for that test and there is no way to know everything that could be asked. One of my insturctors taught me something that I thought was very helpful which was....you may not know the answer to the question...but if you look at the way the questions are structured and the way answers are phrased it can help lead you to the correct answer. Also just practicing just answering anywhere between 100-300 questions a day with Saunders on study mode for three weeks along with knowing my lab values was what I did to help me pass.

I wish you the best of luck in no matter what happens to you. Don't cry. No matter what happens, everything you have gone through has happened for a reason and has made you a stronger person. No matter what, you will make it happen, you will be a nurse. This is your dream and you will make it happen.

there have been moments in my short career where i have questioned my decision to become a nurse, now i love what i do, i am gaining confidence and i am going for my rn then bsn. be determined and stick it out. its alot harder than they tell you in nursing school. but sooooo worth it
