I was wondering how long it took for some people to take their oath of office after they found out they were selected by the boards.

I am Army but last summer and was not able to do my oath until 72 hours before I had to report. When I went reserves many years ago it was the day that I heard I made the boards. I believe the rules for all services are about the same on this.
Is that when you signed all your papers that commited you to the army as well.

For me-Amy- I took my oath(1LT) about 2 weeks after I found I was selected. That same day I signed my contract, loan payback paperwork, bonus all those things and was placed into IRR. When I go active Duty in March, I was told I would do a new swearing in as CPT(my true rank) about 2-3 days befor I leave to OBLC.
sounds like 1st oath was into the IRR & the one before you go is your AD conment
