Navarro College LVN Fall 2023

Updated:   Published

Hey ? out there!!

I didn't see thread for LVN program at Navarro for Fall 2023. Anyone else checking their emails 100x a day anticipating the acceptance or rejection letter??

I didn't get accepted in the ADN program but I didn't get the rejection letter either.   I had to call and it ended up being  a month after the letter was supposed to reach me!

So I am hoping for an ACCEPTANCE  letter on time this go around! ?

Looking forward to meeting you Alaina.  Hopefully your clinical s will be closer to you.

@JD_Mist, would you happen to know what color scrubs we're wearing?!

Hey!   I wanna say it's that royal blue.  I remember reading it somewhere just not sure where. ?

I wish they would hurry and send the Acceptance package.

LOL, I know right! Thanks ?

Have you been to nursing school before? This is my second attempt ?

No. I got accepted to Trinity Valley ADN and LVN program YEARS ago but didn't accept, personal issues.  But I went to MA school with Remington and graduated.....my silly self never took the certification though?

How far did you go?  And how are the schedules like?  I am so anxious to know if it's feasible to continue working and pass.

This was back in Spring 2020 in Tyler, TX... I work full time three nights a week at Baylor in Dallas and still did at the time... I was able to make it to nearly the end of the first semester, but I failed a dosage exam and got an 86% on another exam but needed a 102% on that exam to pass the course, but there's not 102 points available on the exam, so I had to withdraw before actually getting kicked out! I was granted the option to return, but school logistics were so bad because of COVID, so I decided to wait...Now here we go again!

It was absolutely a task trying to work full time and working nights and having to be in school the next day, but it is totally doable and not to mention that I had a two and a half three hour drive to Tyler one -way!

So if I was able to maintain that vigorous schedule, I'm sure you're able to do it too! Your situation sounds a lot simpler than mine....

Oh OK.....well you got a heads up on what to expect :). And you will finish this time for sure?  I am fearful of the dosages, mainly IV....we deal with minor dosages in my work (I work in Pharmacy Authorizations with Humana) but nothing too hard.  I hope to be able to still work...My supervisor said she would work with me, but I feel that will only go so far.  Right now I work 4x10s (Tues-Fri) 8:30-7pm.....

Man, I can't imagine driving to Tyler like that!  I am from Palestine so I am very familiar with Tyler.. That was determination!  Thank you!  I am looking forward to it.  It's a long time coming for me.  I been trying to go back to school for nursing....without giving away my age, LOL, let's just say a long, long time!?

Same here! I will say that it is extremely difficult and it will be the hardest thing that you ever do! I only failed one class technically which you wouldn't believe was basic skills class!

I had a friend fail that class twice before I ever entered core classes and I could not understand how you could fail basic skills until I failed the same class, LOL! Of course, it was the lecture side that was tougher than I thought it would be....

I feel like I've been at this forever also, and I'm 40 years old! I've known nurses that didn't become nurses until they were past 50! It's never too late ?
