These reminders of things we all 'know,' are so timely!  I will often forget these important basics, and need to be brought back to what's real and what can affect my attitude and mood -- things I can change! 

And, if I am doing all these things and still things are not quite 'right,' these are a good ruler, and maybe something that can get me thinking: if what I'm doing isn't working, perhaps I need outside assistance: a good friend's perspective, a re-charge day, a visit to my PCP, etc.

I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but treatment for real mental health issues is more complicated than doing a few exercises or just laughing more. Those things are good, but not as a sole "treatment". At the very least, one should have a mental health professional to talk to, and perhaps even medication. People should never be afraid to ask for help, even when their attempts to communicate their pain to others result in well-intentioned advice to "just smile" or "eat healthy" or "go for a walk". Sometimes it's all but impossible to even shower, let alone go to work or school. Those who have never experienced depression have no idea how debilitating it can be. Yes, it's important for people to help themselves by following a healthy lifestyle, but some of us need more than simple solutions. Just sayin'...
