National Visa Center

Hi All, i'd like your feedbacks on this matter: my I-140 has been approved and now my case has been transferred to the NVC. How long does it take, usually, to get a reply by them and how long before to get a visa number and following appointment at the consulate? My date is current btw...thank you all in advance.

Hi! So I presumed ALL your papers and documents are with NVC, and have filled out the DS 260 online immigrant visa. Allow them 2-3 months before they inform you for your interview date with the instructions on how to submit yourself to a medical exam prior to your interview. Interview dates are usually announce a month ahead. Best wishes on your journey.

Hi Mumai, thanks for your reply. So it should be like 4 months max, starting february 10, before I can be leaving for the US, if everything is ok. Regards.

Hi Alberto73! Their website says that their Current Case Processing Time is 11 weeks (lets just say 3 months)but in my case, it only took 14 days from the date they received all my documents to the date they informed me ny Interview Date.

They were right when they said that Interview Dates are usually scheduled ONE month ahead. Mine was 1 month and 15 days ahead to be exact.

Hi Mumai. honestly I hope it will take a little longer, we wouldn't be ready to leave that early. Anyway my DS 260 has not been done yet! Again, thank you for your advice.

The above case processing time is only applicable when NVC received all your documents, you are done with DS 260 and your Priority Date is current. I heard once approved by a consular officer, visas are valid for only 6 months or earlier. You cannot migrate if your medical exam results are more than 6 months already. God bless on your journey!

Hi Mumai, my documents are now with the NVC and my IV application has been done one week ago. My date always been current...I hope everything is ok and to have my interview date soon...regards!

Hi Mumai, I received an email, 7 days ago, from the NVC saying they have all the required documents and I'm now in the queue waiting to know about my interview date. How long was, for you, before you got your interview? thanks
