Hi Kriss1022! Thank you for making this thread! I am part of this cohort as well. Have you taken the TEAS or proctored Essay? I am signed up to take the essay on the 23rd of this month... kind of don't know what to expect! I am sure we can all help each other out sharing knowledge about the application process
It was really strange actually... I applied to the program on January 6th and I got an email like 4 hours later with my test date. Super fast. I have friends in other cohorts and they didn't get a test date that fast... One of my friends waited about 4 weeks for a test date. When did you submit your application?
I am thinking January is a popular time to apply. I took my TEAS at SDSU too, I think it is smarter so you don't have to stress about 2 tests on one day.
I got an 80 on the TEAS... I was hoping for a lot better than that! It was a hard test. My advice is to study even the things you think you know. I didn't spend much time on the English portion, thinking it was the easiest, and that is the area I scored the least in. Science was were I focused %80 of my studying and that is what I scored highest in.. then math. Good luck to you!!
I will apply this friday. I had to take my official transcripts to La Jolla today. I just finished physio this fall so the grade needs to be scanned in and evaluated. The lady I spoke to today said I should be good to apply this friday. I'm really nervous about the TEAS and essay. It takes me days to write an essay. Good job on your score. I hope we get in the first time around. what do our friends think about this program?
Well I did the science courses at NU so I know how the pace is... one class at a time for two months, it's intense at first, but I kind of like being able to focus on one subject at a time. But you really can't have much of a life while at national, and that is what my friends tell me that are in it right now. Both of my friends are married and have kids but don't work and I know they have no free time with now school. Have you been to the nursing forum?
Thats great to hear that you will actually be applying today! Congrats! Are you applying to any other schools? I actually am applying to some community colleges as well. Grossmont College and City College have GREAT nursing program that everyone respects and knows. Only problem is that you will have to continue school after the 2 years to get your BSN.
