Hi Tia! I am actually planning on applying there in June to hopefully start in January. Could you possibly tell me any advice on getting accepted? I heard nursing school is really competitive! I got A's in all the prereqs and am transfering from MSJC in Menifee (I live in Temecula) How were your grades (if you dont mind me asking)? Just so I can see what my chances are of getting in the program. How much does it cost? I think it is $40,000 right? DId you apply to any other schools? Did you get right into National? Was the accuplacer test hard? I am really interested in knowing how it goes when you start! Please keep me posted! I am new to this so dont really know how to contact users in the future, but would love to keep in touch!

I applied last month with a 3.18 gpa and A's in the 6 sciences. The accuplacer Math, in my opinion was difficult. I tested into 12B and my advisor said that was acceptable, and he also said that the Nursing program has realistic expectations and they understand that the average person is not going to test into College Algebra. I did test into college level English, and they do expect you to test into that class to be competitive, but for math they want at a minimum 12A, 12B or College level Math.

They take 3-4 months to approve/deny an application, and I was notified on 4/11 via email 2 weeks after I applied that my application was in process and that if my file was found to be incomplete, I would be notified by u.s. mail. My advisor called me yesterday to say that the nursing program has hired additional clerical staff and that they are actually returning decisions in about 2 months instead of how long it used to be (as long as 10 months).

So....thats all I know about the application process. I think you have a good shot if you have a good overall gpa and did well in the prereq's.
