Has anyone had any luck with applying at National University for their nursing program? I applied back in Oct 06 and have been waiting to hear from them. They are supposed to notify in 3 months. I have called and called and written email upon emails with no response really. Please, if anyone has applied and received some sort of letter, I would greatly appreciate your reply.
Thanks
You want to contact her before the clinical schedule is made, about 4-6 weeks before the class begins. Theory is always on Mondays, so there won't be any surprises with that.
We have our Theory class always on Wednesdays. I am in Cohort 18.
**Honeybee** Congrats! So glad you got a job! Good luck on your new job and keep us posted!
Harparia: It did say that theory classes will typically be held on Mondays for my cohort (22). But thank you for that information!! I really appreciate it! The Nursing Compliance Analyst will definitely be hearing from me in September!!
gnomik79: I sorry to hear that! I hope I will be able to just change a couple of days so I can go to my cousin's wedding! It is extremely important! Hopefully the Nursing Compliance Analyst will understand! Not to mention I will definitely include that she can schedule me where ever she wants after that!!!

No problem. If you only need one day off that happens to be a clinical day, usually the clinical instructors will work with you - it depends on the instructor though. Worst case scenario is that you won't have to miss your cousin's wedding, but you will have to take an absence and write a boring 3-4 page paper. Speaking with the NCA will get your general preferences for your clinicals, like if you prefer days over evenings, weekdays over weekends, driving distance over days/time.
Oh ok I see! I had one more question...when I went to the Nursing Forum (about a year ago), they told me the cost for the program would be exactly $40,376. I just got my last Hep B shot yesterday and I was talking to the LVN and she said her friend is currently attending and is paying $80-$90 grand?! I about flipped off of the chair! Tell me this isn't so! I am aware that pricing may have gone up since it has been a year...but not double!! So my question is: how much is the program now?
By the way, might need a couple of days off considering that they live in Boston!

Unless things have drastically changed, the nursing program itself is about 37k (17-19k per year) , not including any prerequisites that you take at the school. So far I have only had to pay about 3K out of pocket; financial aid covered the rest. Some people take out extra loans to pay for costs of living, since it is not recommended that you work (I do anyway). I think that the financial aid calculator said that I would need about 40k per year including those living expenses, but really, I'm on pace for the lower amount. I'm very frugal; I buy all my texts one edition back from half.com, I don't buy the study guides or other recommended books and I bring my own lunches/dinners everywhere. All of that adds up to some serious $$.
