Has anyone had any luck with applying at National University for their nursing program? I applied back in Oct 06 and have been waiting to hear from them. They are supposed to notify in 3 months. I have called and called and written email upon emails with no response really. Please, if anyone has applied and received some sort of letter, I would greatly appreciate your reply.
Thanks
Congratulations everyone who made it to the cohorts!I was wondering what kind of scores did you get on your TEAS exams?
And did any of you get into the January 2011 cohort for LVN to BSN?
Just wanted some encouragement here...
Thanks!
Hello BenJammn!
Well, I got a 86.7% on my TEAS but I have no idea what I got on the essay portion of the test. I am going for the generic entry BSN, not LVN to BSN option so I'm not sure if they let the LVN's know later than the generic entry applicants or at the same time. Good luck though!
Hi there,
I am part of the October 2010 cohort and very excited to start school. I was talking with a nursing student at San Diego State and she said that they are required to practice drawing blood and giving shots to each other. . .up to 5 times a day. I am extremely phobic of needles and I know I can not do that. For any current or past students of the National University program is it required?????
Thanks. : )
I have heard of a lot of places doing this...I'm sure after the first initial tries you will feel a lot better about it and it won't be that bad. Maybe this will get rid of your fear of needles! You might be around them for a while =] I am in the October cohort too...trying to get all the stuff done for orientation!
Tutubalu,
Sign on to the student portal on nu.edu and view your class schedule. Click on view books in the last colum (for the first class) but don't buy them from that website. Way to $$$.
I'm pretty much done with all the stuff. I'm going for my drug screen on Monday and I just applied for the malpractice insurance.
you live in pq right?
I'm in the October 2010 cohort as well and was actually looking at the books requried for the first class yesterday. I found they were cheaper on Amazon.com than half.com, so maybe check that out. You should be able to get all 3 of them for about $100.
Can't wait for orientation! Only 3 more weeks!

I got my malpractice through NSO (Nurses Service Organization). I think it was the first suggestion they gave us in the orientation packet. About $20 a year- nothing pricey.
