National University San Diego Cohort 71

Published

Hi Everyone! I wanted to start this Thread since there wasn't one yet for this Cohort.

I am currently applying to this cohort and this will be my first attempt.

Math/Science GPA: 3.9

TEAS: 82.7% (this was already my 3rd retake)

From reading other cohorts stats, don't really feel confident in my scores. But I will hope for the best. I also have 2 years of LVN experience and 3 years of CNA experience.

Good luck to everyone who as also applied! ?

Has anyone taken the  3 co requisites we need? the 2 Spanish courses and the Soc 40? it sucks we cant take it anywhere else except at NU

Specializes in Medical surgical telemetry.

I always renew my BLS at express training solutions in Oceanside, in person. I think you can do it online…but I wouldn’t. It’s $50 and they get you in out with your certificate in less than 4 hours. It’s easy.

Specializes in Surgical Tech, Corpsman, CNA, Field Medical/EMT.

Hi everyone made it to cohort 71 wanted to fine a thread to chat with my fellow classmates. For those who made it keep trying you will definitely make it.

Has anyone tested out of SPN 340A ? is it easy or hard? do you have to speak Spanish well to pass it?

Hi, I'm in the class right now, it just started this week and it seems to be fairly easy. It's all online and consists of two homework assignments from the text book, a discussion board, and a written assignment every week. There's one midterm and a final which is not comprehensive

@schrb are all the assignments in Spanish?

also which book are you guys using?

and if you like the professor send me the name so I can sign up possibly.

thanks~

So there's one assignment a week in English which is the written assignment. And then the other assignments you do are in Spanish.

The book we use is called An Introduction to Medical Spanish Communication and Culture 5th Edition by Robert O. Chase and Clarisa B. Medina de Chase

The professor's name is Olga Zindel and she seems nice ?

I'm also going to try to do the other two corequisites required during the month of August if anybody is thinking about taking those too let me know! I want to get them out of the way LOL

@schrbOK great thanks for all the info! I also need to sign up for those 2 other classes in august. Have you done your BLS/CPR certification? I need find something online thats approved by AHA. we need it by orientation. if you know of any websites please let me know

Well I did a CNA program late last year that offered the BLS/CPR certification so I already have it done. I did it in person so I'm not familiar with online ones sorry!

Hey guys has anyone taken SOC400 at national? how easy/difficult is this?

Also if anyone can tell me where to get my BLS/CPR cert I would really be grateful! thanks
