Hi Everyone!
I seen a prior cohort post a forum similar to this to connect with other individuals applying to the program. Deadline for cohort 80 is August 9th. How is everyone feeling about it?

So my friend got back to me about NU. Here are her pros and cons:
Pros: ⁃ She loves how fast-paced 1 to 2 month classes (once or twice a week for lecture, once a week for skills lab, once a week for clinicals at a hospital) ⁃ you can focus one subject at a time instead of having multiple subjects in a semester ⁃ it is accelerated but doable. Word load is manageable. Just keep ahead of the assignments. Finish them early so you have time to study for the exams. Exam are usually once every 2 weeks. ⁃ there are 6 students per clinical group. She likes that it is a small group, clinical instructors are very helpful and you'll learn a lot if it is a small group than a larger group ⁃ some professors & clinical instructors gave them free food at the end of the class. Some gave little presents as well for remembrance
Cons: ⁃ they have last minute schedule changes so make sure you are flexible with your work schedule (also there were 2 classes that she remembered that their class schedule was given just one week before the course starts. So again make sure to explain to your employer regarding unorganized schedule at school. But this only happened on 2 of their classes) ⁃ her group was the first cohort to do ATI. Before then, they were doing Kaplan. So they felt the struggle with transitioning to ATI. ATI is a bit harder than Kaplan, but she thinks it will be beneficial for NCLEX. She also said some of the advisors are disorganized and didn't really talk to them much during her program.
Overall, she finds NU a great experience. Pros outweigh the negatives.
