National University Nursing San Diego cohort 80

Published

Hi Everyone!

I seen a prior cohort post a forum similar to this to connect with other individuals applying to the program. Deadline for cohort 80 is August 9th. How is everyone feeling about it?

Nothing! Hoping for Monday also.

Do you guys think there's a lot of people apply for this Cohort?

I think so since the cohort size went back to 40 seats this time. I hope we hear back from NU this week regarding interviews! My friend who's finishing up the program right now said it took them about a month to find out about interviews, but this was also two years ago. Hopefully we don't have to wait that long 🫠

That's good to know that it took so long! Gives me hope LOL. I'm curious about your friend's experience in the program. I'd love to know their thoughts, pros, cons, etc

Did you guys apply to other school as well?

I did not. I'm a San Diego resident and have heard about NU through friends who are former/current students. I thought about applying for ADN programs, but the problem was the amount of retakes I need for the TEAS in order to be more competitive. Some CC's only take your first attempt or you'd have to wait 30 days in between before retaking the exam. I may apply for another program in case NU doesn't work out. How about you?

Yeah I did apply to Grossmont Community College and I will apply at City College just to have back up. I am really lookung forward to get in here because some private school they are so expensive and they want you to retake your science classes with them.

Got it! It's always good to have backup! When do you find out from Grossmont? I did retake A&P 1 with NU to get an A this time around since I received a C the first attempt a few years ago.

For Grossmont I will find out this October but I think most people trying to get in Community college because it is cheaper. That is why it is very competitive to get in.

I did. I'm applying to all the local CCs. I'll go wherever I get accepted LOL. I'm not picky!

Yeah, I'm also hoping to go to a CC instead of National because it's so much less expensive and you can finish your BSN in a relatively short amount of time afterwards.
