National University Cohort 63

Published

Hi all! I wanted to create a thread for Cohort 63 for application period Feb 2020. I’ve been a national student for almost 4 years. I’m taking my teas in December to hopefully score above 90 to be competitive. My GPA sits at a 3.5

How did you get a 93 on the TEAS? How did you study??

I used ATI TEAS secrets and the ATI online study program. Studied for around 5 weeks. The practice tests were key for me.

Hi guys, I was wondering If you had any suggestions for interviews. I got an interview for cohort 64 and was wondering what we’re some of the questions they ask. Thank you.

Hello,

The questions I remember were:

What is your understanding of a Nurses role?

What is a time when you disagreed with a manger/supervisor and how did you handle it?

There were 5 questions I believe, those are the ones I remember.

I made sure to respond with answers that reflected the health care experience I had.

For what it is worth I wore a suit and tie. The whole thing was very short.

the 4 I remember were:

2 reasons you chose national

why do you want a career in healthcare

tell us about a time where you admitted that you made a mistake

give us 3 examples of professionalism in nursing.

One thing I learned was to show up with questions written down for the end, they loved me asking questions, and I went over my time because I got to show them how interested I was asking things like, what is the NCLEX pass rate, what do I do if I find myself struggling during the program, stuff like that and it became very comfortable. It helps you stand out.

Good luck!

Mine asked me about a situation in which I had done everything possible but still had an outcome I didn't want.

Then why national over other schools, what about them works for me. Why being a nurse over another profession.

Professionalism and diversity in a workplace.

My interview was 10-13 minutes. It goes by so quick. Biggest thing is be yourself and don't give them a practiced answer. Be genuine.

Thank you. I appreciate how you guys took the time to respond. Also if I may ask those who got in what were your scores.

They did not give any score information back. I believe a page back or two someone posted the cut off numbers

Before getting in I would scavenge these forums looking for info about averages for each cohort and what not, so here are the averages for those that got into cohort 63:

Math/Science GPA: 3.7

TEAS VI: 85%

Interview: 19.09 pts

that looks to be an average of 90 points altogether

I don't know the cutoff unfortunately but I hope this information helps!

3.75 GPA and a 90% on the TEAS, no clue what my interview score was

Breath, trust in yourself, don't be fake, dress to impress. You've got this.

Hi guys I had my interview yesterday and I don’t feel too confident about it. Does anyone know how they grade the interview? I know they do it by points but does anyone know the breakdown?
