National University Cohort 81 - deadline November 8, 2024

Published

Hello everyone!

I am making this thread for anyone who is applying for NU's cohort 81. The application deadline for this cohort is on November 8, 2024. This is my second time applying for the program after getting denied from the last cohort due to my TEAS score. My stats are 3.73 GPA and 94 on the TEAS which I retook the other day. I also have 3 years of healthcare experience working mainly in behavioral health.

Looking forward to chat with all of you here 🙂

Great for us, I hope and pray we get the opportunity to join.

well thats great news, hopefully that means they will accept more people. everybody is applying with all A's and B's (for math and science) and extremely high TEAS. A lot of other nursing programs don't require such high TEAS scores. The more people they let in the better!!

when I get a response I'll message this page.

me too. wish you all the best of luck. I guess we will touch base in a few weeks. good luck!

Hopefully we all get good news and move forward together! Don't lose hope right now. We got this 🙂

We got this guys! This is my second TEAS score, I got a 73 the first time LOL. The advisor told me to retake it for a better shot. I thought 84 was good enough score. I studied through ATI study guide 😭 and it was a lot to read.

I asked the advisor about that, so they'll be interviewing that much people but only choosing 40 total.

hi may

It is a lot to review, happy you did better. They interview and then score you based on your interview. I hope we all get that opportunity and get accepted into the program.

Ugh that's lame! Hoping that not many people apply this cohort, but we'll see. I feel like it's more common to apply in the Summer and fall which is why I thought the previous cohorts were more competitive.

Karina, did you attend the forum at MFSON? Sounds good, but I left before they had to take the little test, doesn't seem like it's a good fit for me.

They take multiple classes at a time I believe like 3-4 months long . They also make you take their final tests for their A&P and other classes for them to accept your credits if you got it from a different school. They're 200 questions tests. Just seems too much. But the bright side is. Once u finished the ADN program you can take the NCLEX to be a RN and take the BSN online.

I know I went and had the orientation and took that little test. I'm supposed to go soon to talk about financial aid.
I don't want to attend it as much as NU.
I am also looking into grossmont, miracosta and palomar nursing programs.

I went to MFSON's orientation earlier this year and was nearly swayed until I saw the cost of the program. They start off with 80 candidates and weed out students as the first few semesters pass by. Eventually, the class ends up with 45 students so it's not really guaranteed that you'll be part of that top 45. It sounds like there's no room to fail so even if you don't do well in one class you have the option to retake it next term or drop out. However, once you drop out you can never apply in that program again. That was a dealbreaker for me.
