Hello everyone!
I am making this thread for anyone who is applying for NU's cohort 81. The application deadline for this cohort is on November 8, 2024. This is my second time applying for the program after getting denied from the last cohort due to my TEAS score. My stats are 3.73 GPA and 94 on the TEAS which I retook the other day. I also have 3 years of healthcare experience working mainly in behavioral health.
Looking forward to chat with all of you here 🙂

Hello! My score was an 80 which I had about a month or less to study. An advisor told me it's best to score above 85 or even 90s to be considered for an interview.
MayBrown said:I'm so nervous, it's my first time applying. I just submitted my application today. Do you have medical background or military experience? I don't know if it counts but it was asked on the application. Good luck to us! Did you get interviewed the first time?
I only have healthcare experience working in psych! I'm also not in the military, but the app does ask about both! I didn't move on to the interview because of my score. I kept refreshing my email after other students from the previous cohort said interview emails were rolling in.

Looks like we have very similar stats! Hope we both get accepted this round! I saw that the school is accepting 90 students this cohort from both second bacc and LVN-RN.
ugh ya I don't know the advisor told me I needed a 3.5 and above for cumulative GPA to be competitive...are you able to retake any of the math and science classes?
you never know, it also depends on the averages of all the applicants. If most of the people that apply to this cohort have a 86 on the TEAS then you may have a better shot?

2nd time applying 3.2 GPA and 86 TEAS? anyone has similar scores and got denied? im scared. Any thoughts or advice.
To be honest, I would try to retake a class or so in order to boost your GPA. I think 86 is a good score. I feel like an advisor will ask you to retake as my previous advisor did the same. I only had to retake A&P I since I received a C some years ago.
REM92 said:they are taking 90 student instead of the usual 40? thats amazing! I applied for the generic entry bachelor, not the second bachelor program. I wonder if we take classes all together or what?
Yep, I think it's 45 from each program which makes it 90. I like this because the past few cohorts the school had to cut the size in half. Last cohort, the count went up to 40 so I think this is good news for us.

My cumulative is 2.9 and math and science is 3.2. I am sad at the thought I won't possibly be a candidate, It has been such a roller coaster. I hope we get the the opportunity to interview.
