Hello everyone!
I am making this thread for anyone who is applying for NU's cohort 81. The application deadline for this cohort is on November 8, 2024. This is my second time applying for the program after getting denied from the last cohort due to my TEAS score. My stats are 3.73 GPA and 94 on the TEAS which I retook the other day. I also have 3 years of healthcare experience working mainly in behavioral health.
Looking forward to chat with all of you here 🙂

We spoke about my nursing goals for only half of our 40 minute conversation and then spent the other half talking about similar places we've both lived and some of our life experiences, how nursing has changed her life, her relationships with past patients, the cultural climate of nursing in socal, our favorite foods LOL etc. How about yours?
Whoa 40 minutes?! You're definitely a shoe-in!! I forgot my interviewer's name but she's the current Dean and is a super nice lady. We talked for almost half an hour mostly about nursing and she asked me just 3 questions. She made it like a conversation so it was easy for me to explain myself with full confidence. She was very impressed with my resume since I already work in healthcare and that I have a Bachelor's degree so I'm considered an older student LOL.

Haha I hope so! She did explain to me she wants the cohort to be half men/half women && also half young/half older students! Obviously that's an ideal situation but gives you leverage if less of your demographic applies haha!
The only two questions she asked me were "Why do you want to be a nurse?” To start the conversation and then once I answered, her follow up was "why national?” And a after that we got side tracked many times and we were just talking about lots of things.

I think she's the same lady who interviewed me! I may have misheard her saying she's the director then haha! I was hoping we'd find out next week, but it's looking like early January.

According to internal source (NU student buddy) for cohort 81, ONLY 50 people applied for 40 seats...
Me ! also Sharp and NU LVN to BSN partnership
ooh we might all have the chance. Also, at the day of my interview, the interviewer shared that she has a lot of no-shows. I am manifesting we all get the acceptance letter next week or early January. I am excited to think we all gonna be starting this April.

That's crazy. Hoping we all get a seat in this cohort! I can already tell we'll be a terrific group going through this together.

Yes, the applicant before me was a no show. She said that she was surprised because so many people wanted an interview and there was people not showing up!
