Hi All, I want to start this thread to help us prepare and ask questions as the BSN Cohort 82 application deadline is approach. We can use this to share stats, keep eachother up to date as deadlines approach, interview letters sent out, help in preparing for interviews and of course encouraging eachother along the way.
To start, I will be applying with a 3.838 GPA (nursing core classes) and 92 TEAS score.
For anyone who has gone through the process or knows others who have gone through, do you think this will be competitive enough?
Hi Sromelia,
I haven't heard yet. I know what you mean, I have been checking multiple times a day! AliceLei posted a nice timeline based off the cohort 81 data. I think we will hear Friday through early next week. Hopefully earlier.
The BSN programs have been so competitive. I am hoping we all get in. We got this!
🙂
Hi REM7.
I haven't heard anything. I am hoping we will all hear some good news on Friday. Though I obsessively check my email every day, just in case they notify us early. LOL. I think you are right about the GPA and TEAS scores. I hope it's a smaller group to give more people a chance of getting in. It's crazy how competitive nursing programs are!
Keep us posted if you hear anything....btw. If you don't mind sharing your stats? No pressure of course. The info helps others who are applying to know their standing. I totally scoured cohort 81 as well to see where I stood. LOL.

I can see that as well. I think this may be able to reflect how few applicants they are having for this cohort.
With that being said, I still think this is somewhat ridiculous. Back in October last year, I was going to apply for the previous cohort 81, however the registrar's office was not working properly, and some of my transferred course credits were unable to be confirmed. I heard from my advisor that there were about a dozen students in a similar situation like mine, which means all of us would be applying for this cohort 82. And at that time they didn't do anything to extend the deadline for a mistake from their end, and wasted 3 months of all of our lives. Now this?
Hi sunshinemc!
A few friends of mine who are also applying to this cohort as well noticed that also. One reached out to her advisor and the advisor asked his supervisor. The advisor said the orginial deadline of Feb. 14 still stands. He didn't know exactly why the 25th deadline was posted.

Did you speak with anyone that confirmed this? I am curious to know if there are few applicants. The same person who asked her advisor also told her there were over 40 applicants but did not say exactly how many.
Hi all! First time applying, and I just found this group today which has been very helpful. Based on the last cohort, I think we'll hear back on Friday 2/28 for interviews. I've been checking my email every day and I'm anxious!
Nursing core classes: 4.0
TEAS: 91.3%
I started with an 80% TEAS score, but I was told I needed at least an 86% to be considered so I restudied and did better.

I haven't talked with anyone. (Honestly I'm not a big fan of my current advisor.) In my opinion, if the program plans to take in 40 students and interview 80, then "over 40" applicants is a small number but absolutely a FANTASTIC news for us!

Hi Krystle1,
Congratulations! Those are excellent scores and great job on your retake. It definitely paid off!
Same as you, I have been checking every day for the email. We got this!

I agree! I think that is FANTASTIC news for us as well. I hope its not much over 40. :).
Sorry to hear about your advisor. I have a new one now as my old one is no longer with NU and I like my new one so much more. She has been super helpful. My old advisor was pretty unresponsive and missed appointments, it was hard to get things done.

Your grades are very competitive as well! And it sounds like you've already considered this thoroughly and are quite determined. As long as there are not toooo many people, I feel you'll get this as well.
So far all the classmates I've met in my pre-req courses are all very nice, smart and diligent, which are exactly the people I'd love to be studying and working with! Hopefully the good luck will bring us together in the future!
