Nassau Community College Spring 2015

Published

Hey Everyone!!!! i didnt see a thread for NCC spring 2015 nursing program, so i figured i start one. Anyone plan on applying for spring semester?

You could also share some insight if you're already in the program. Like how the application process was for you and your gpa as well as TEAS scores. im sure any info would be helpful.

I am in section A2!!! Anyone else

I say it doesn't hurt to apply, but each semester is different. I have a 73 on TEAS and 3.46 on the 4 courses, but technically I was wait-listed then rejected because of the the application pool for Spring 2015. When I called administrations, they said due to a lot more applicants this semester I couldn't make the cut. The Fall 2014 pool was smaller and less competitive, so you never know? ( You get extra points for living in Nassau County... that can help in the long run)

Hi guys, I first want to congratulate everyone who has gotten into the program. I am applying for the Fall and I just wanted to like to get some information, because apparently it seems to me you guys know more than the people who I've spoken to at the front desk. My grades are pretty similar to most of you guys, however, I am a Suffolk County resident and not a student at NCC. Will this hinder my chances of getting in? I've read in previous posts I would be losing out on several points because of this? I rather have you guys be 100% honest than as opposed to giving me hope. As far as my grades it's as follows...

Anatomy and Physiology I: B+ (3.5 Suffolk Community College)

Statistics: B+ (3.333 Syracuse University)

English 101: A- ( 3.7 Stonybrook University)

Psych 101: A (4.0 Suffolk Community College)

TEAS V: 84.1 Advanced

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

your stats look good, you will definitely be accepted not based on GPA but Based on Teas score. Advance will guarantee you a seat. Good luck

Hey hey fellow nurses to be!!! I'm Elissa I figured we can help each other out? right? I look forward to discussing and sharing experiences with you all!

Hi everyone, I'm in the program. I got in with a 3.68 GPA and a Teas test score of 78.

I just want to tell you this program is extremely vigorous, hard, time consuming. You definitely have to work part time while in the program but it's doable.

Brush shy up on basic math because sometime in the program you will have to do a Calculation of dosage test without a calculator.

also if you want to get an early start on your reading I can email you the reading list for the program :)))

So far I love the program, faculty and the fellow students in my section.

Cheers and good luck to all

p.s. Don't mind my spelling errors, typing from my phone

Question for you…. Are you just taking nursing classes or do you have a full load of classes? I'm aware that some people also are taking electives or A & P 2. Thank you for your help!

Nope, I'm just taking N101.... It's a workload of 3 classes combined

Awesome ;) thanks for the info!

TheArchitect- Just curious, what was your "interview" like? I've heard a ton of different things about it. Thanks!

There is no interview, just orientation and clearing your paper work which. They give you a take home math test and tell you to get your physical done before you start classes. They also give you a list of stuff to get. Example uniforms and recommended reading material.

Thanks so much!
