Anyone got any acceptance letters for this yet? Are acceptance/rejection letters even being sent out right now? :o

Agreed. But the real work is just starting

Specializes in Neurosurgery, Neurology.

Congrats all! I hope you all continue to update to let the rest of us know how it is! I'm currently at NCC, just registered for stats for the winter session (ugh). I'll be applying for Fall 2014. I have As in everything so I'm cautiously optimistic. I like that NCC is nearby, new facilities, seems like a rigorous program, and of course the tuition. The only thing is of course that it's an ADN. I'm definitely curious about that Farmingdale accelerated joint program they have, but I think that's only for the Fall starts IIRC.

Anyway, congrats again, exciting!

anyone still have to take microbiology? I do. I'm a little stressed cuz they keep saying you should take the nursing courses alone. I'm hoping it doable.

Yes, I do! I heard the same exact thing, I was told that you may be able to handle it with your first semester of nursing; However, I am considering taking it during the summer so I have one less thing to worry about!

Hi everyone, im currently a student at NCC and will be applying for fall 2014 but im worried I wont get it. NCC is very hard to get into. I am finishing up stat102 n AnP 1. I should have an gpa of 3.8, do u guys think that enough ? if you don't mind can u tell me ur gpa

thanks

It feels good not to be alone. Im afraid of the summer cuz its so intense. @nurse_annie . What time is your orientation Tuesday?

Cool. What time is your orientation?

Does anyone know if we stay in the same hospital all 4 semesters? I'm in section B and one of the hospitals is in Huntington and it's an hour away from my house so I really hope they put me in Winthrop.

@Stephie859 Congrats on your acceptance!!!!

I was curious on how you got accepted. This is my first year in NCC and im thinking about applying to the Nursing program for Fall 2014. I just got done with A&P1,STATS,ENG101, and PSYCH. My gpa is a 3.4 because i got a C on my A&P so im thinking about taking it over because i thought a 3.2 gpa was too low. Do you have any advice since you got in with a 3.3 gpa ?

Sorry about abandoning this thread for awhile. But I got accepted as well. c:

And if it helps anyone who is also planning to apply, here are my grades:

I already have a bachelor's degree in psychology from Hunter College - Overall GPA: 3.4

Required course grades:

English: A- (Transferred from my last college)

A&P I: B+ (Taken at NCC during the spring)

Human development: A (Taken at NCC during the summer)

Statistics: A (Taken at NCC during the winter)

Overall NCC GPA: 3.8

TEAS score: 74.7%, proficient

I am in section C and I will be going to Huntington hospital starting Jan 21st.

Good luck to people who plan to apply! ^^

Also, congratulations to all those who were accepted for the spring! I hope to see some of you there. ~

Is anyone going to buy the fundamental textbook by Kozier before orientation? They said the ATI program comes with a complete set of textbooks but how are we supposed to read the chapters before orientation if we don't sign up for the ATI program until the first week of class?

Hi I just finished NUR101. You need the book as soon as possible. And the ATI books will come to the school once you order them through ATI. ..... Word of advice, if anyone has the books now read them because the reading can get to be too much if you fall behind. And focus more on the key points, the boxes on the pages, and the nursing process as a whole!... If u can do that u will do great. Goodluck
