Hello! I noticed there wasn't a thread for students applying to Fall 2024 nursing program at NCC so I decided to make one! I am applying to the day program and have 155 points towards my application. Fingers crossed I make it in this semester.

For NCC one year is divided into two semesters (nursing classes cannot be taken in the Summer). So if you've done all of the pre reqs it should take you about 4 semesters (2 years) to get your ADN. This is mostly because you cannot "double up" the nursing classes. They have to be taken in sequence and cannot be taken concurrently.

OMG thank you so much for this Clarity. I really appreciate it. I think 2 years is a bit long tho.

You're welcome! Did you get accepted for this fall? Maybe you can call and ask if you can take two of the nursing classes at the same time but it was my understanding that we cannot. Some schools might offer nursing classes during the Summer but most schools will take around two years to get ADN from the start of the nursing program.

Hello. I'm new here
I'm thinking about applying to the NCC nursing program. I'm a current NCC student who was considering another career in the healthcare field. As I was working through my pre-reqs for that particular program I decided and realized I could actually be a Nurse. It's was attainable! However now I'm having some doubts. I currently have a 4.0 GPA. I have completed 6 of the recommended pre-reqs, currently enrolled in 2 and considering taking 2 during the Winter semester, instead of the Spring semester so that I am able to apply in March. I only earned 5 points on my TEAS and I'm a Suffolk resident, so I will never get those 10 points. I highly doubt even if I were to retake the TEAS that I will score high enough to get the dull 15 points. So as you can see doubt is setting in. Anyone have a similar story? Anyone have any pointers? The Winter semester is just 3 weeks longs and I would take 2, 3 credit courses. Is it worth gambling an A in order to apply this coming March? Should I retake the TEAS for an extra 5 points? Also can someone finally but the rumors to bed. What's with the 5 points for not ever attending another Nursing Program? I heard you get 5 points deducted for attending another nursing program not getting an extra 5 for not having so.
Thank you
