Hello, I am wondering if there is anyone here that is applying to Nassau for Fall 2016. I have applied and I'm scheduled to take my TEAS exam on 3/18. I do not have all of my pre-requisites which I understand gives me a better chance of being admitted. I plan to take classes this summer and will take the rest in the Fall if I'm not admitted. I would just like to know thoughts on getting into this program. Also, if there is anyone currently in the program please share your thoughts on how things are going for you. Thanks!

Hi, I am also applying to Nassau's nursing program for the fall 2016 semester. By the end of the semester I will have all prerequisites except for A&P 2 (plan on taking it in the summer) and Micro (will take it in the fall if I don't get accepted into the program) and the foreign language/art elective. I already took the teas and got a proficient. The science portion killed me but nassau claims that they don't look at that part so I'm hoping for the best. Did you already take A&P 1 and 2? I heard getting an A in these courses helps a lot.
Hi Merciq1, thanks for responding. After checking my undergrad curriculum I may have everything except A&P 1 and 2, Micro and Ethics. I'm worried about that as I see that it's better to have all of the courses done even though they said pre-reqs are not required. I'm hoping for the best but also realistic. Any advice for the TEAS test? I went to an info session on 3/8 and they said that Science is not considered. That is a huge plus for me. I will be focusing on studying for Math as that will be my weakest area.
The Teas book was very helpful for me. I found it on eBay for less than half the price it's being sold for on their website. As I said before, the science portion is super hard but they don't consider it so that's good. It's not a hard exam overall but you do have to study or you won't pass. I ran out of time on the last 3 questions for the math. I still passed it with a 73%.

I also applied for Fall 2016. Does anyone know when we will hear back?
Ok thank you for the suggestion. I found a book called Teas Crash Course by REA (Research & Education Association) and so far it has been really helpful. I've been spending most of my time focusing on the Math section. It's getting closer to test time so I'm a little nervous.
Hi rx.bdecarlo, during the nursing info session we were told that we should find out by the end of April.
Thank you =)
You're welcome!

Hi guys,
I just took the teas and applied for Fall 2016. I heard that last year a lot of people with GPAs of 3.7 and higher didn't get in, and my GPA is only a 3.5. My TEAS score was in the 88 Percentile of the program (leavel: advanced) and I have a BS Biology already so I only have to take med micro.
Anyone else in the same boat??

Hi, I also attended the info session on 3/8. I wanted to know how they did their points system for admissions. I scored an 82 overall with the science in it 85 without with science on the teas which is advanced. An advanced score on the teas only gives you 10 quality points which is less than an A would give you in a 3 credit course. It's kind of confusing, if anyone needs more clarity I can go into the details more. And an overall gpa matters but people who have more class done have more quality points and more of a chance to get it in. I am only missing the ethics course. I am thinking I can go either way with a seat because I have a 3.46 overall with the quality points, (have everything except ethics) I have 10 points for the teas, but I miss out on the 10 points for being a nassau resident, I live in suffolk. Good luck to all, looks like people last year were getting letters april 24 and on.
