Looking for anyone who is applying to NCC for Spring / January start ( or anyone else on the road to applying) who wants others in the same situation to go through the process with.
Hi all,
I didn't get in!!!
I'm new to this thread (forum also) but have been reading such great responses from everyone. I applied to the Nursing program in October 2010. I'm a Nassau County Resident. My GPA is a 4.0. I had all the prerequsites (all A's in them) and I'm currently taking Psych 216. I am befuddled as to why I wasn't accepted.
I did not take Medical Micro or A&P II yet. I also took some prerequisites at another school.
Could any of the above been the reason for my denial??
I'm desperate to know why I didn't get in
Thanks all!!
Congrats to everyone that got accepted. I received my acceptance letter today. My interview is on Dec 17, 1 pm. Thanks Kuklara for letting us know what to expect for the interview. I know the coursework is challenging and it's making me nervous. I'm excited yet anxious. I want to do well and learn everything I can.
I applied for nights and looked at the schedule for Spring - 4 sections with 9 people in each class. I got a great idea from a professor today to set up a Facebook page for the class so that the class could share info on the subject taught in the course. I'll see if I have the time when I start classes.
Transfisk / Kalyco - I am sorry you didn't get better news today. First, don't give up - some people who get in actually don't take the course- got in other school or whatever, so sometimes people get accepted later. It happened to someone on the thread that Kuklara was on when she was in our position.
Also, I understand that they prefer those who have all thier prereqs AND coreqs complete (especially sciences) because the program is so intense that they don't want you trying to do the course and APII or Micro etc.
Take your APII this semester and any coreqs - engII, PSY, Humanities etc.. and apply in March for fall.
I had all my prereq and coreqs done, exept Micro wich I am taking now. If you have co reqs to do, use the wintrim session if you can.
Don't Give Up. also.. read some of the older threads on NCC entrance. I learned more from watching threads from those trying to get into this past Sept class than from anything I got in the info sessions.
