Nassau Community College : Anyone Applying for Spring 2011

Published

Looking for anyone who is applying to NCC for Spring / January start ( or anyone else on the road to applying) who wants others in the same situation to go through the process with.

Hi all, I'm new to this thread, but I just received my letter this morning and I got in.... YEAH!!!!! My "interview" is also for 11am so I am SOOOO excited. Congrats to all and best of luck to those who are still waiting!!!

Mail just came still nothing :(. Congrats on getting your letters today! I guess the Suffolk people won't know untill Monday. Goods luck!!

Dogmom I love your enthusiasm!! I do have interview on the same date as you and Ana but my time is later at 11 am, yours is at 9 am right? I hope to meet you and Ana and others on this thread who are accepted. I got into the day program-how about the rest of you?

Jessica- I applied for the day program... i still have to figure out how I'm going to work out my schedule with school and work, lol

HI, just want to share - my boyfriend didn't get in:(. He has 4.0 with 19 credits (incl. all pre-req, A&P1 and couple other classes) from Nassau and lives in Nassau county. So, i am not sure why. Maybe cause he doesn't have that many credits.

Hi all,

I didn't get in!!! :crying2:

I'm new to this thread (forum also) but have been reading such great responses from everyone. I applied to the Nursing program in October 2010. I'm a Nassau County Resident. My GPA is a 4.0. I had all the prerequsites (all A's in them) and I'm currently taking Psych 216. I am befuddled as to why I wasn't accepted.

I did not take Medical Micro or A&P II yet. I also took some prerequisites at another school.

Could any of the above been the reason for my denial??

I'm desperate to know why I didn't get in

Thanks all!!

Tranzfikst and Katlyco: I'm sorry to hear that you and tranzfikst's boyfriend didn't get in. Did you (& he) apply for the day or evening program?

He applied for day, cause he works at night. It was a shocker, i was sure he will get in. But, i guess he will just continue taking classes and applying everywhere we can.

I too applied for the day program.

Question: To all applicants who were accepted (congrats!), was this your first time applying??

Thanks!

Congrats to everyone that got accepted. I received my acceptance letter today. My interview is on Dec 17, 1 pm. Thanks Kuklara for letting us know what to expect for the interview. I know the coursework is challenging and it's making me nervous. I'm excited yet anxious. I want to do well and learn everything I can.

I applied for nights and looked at the schedule for Spring - 4 sections with 9 people in each class. I got a great idea from a professor today to set up a Facebook page for the class so that the class could share info on the subject taught in the course. I'll see if I have the time when I start classes.

Transfisk / Kalyco - I am sorry you didn't get better news today. :sniff: First, don't give up - some people who get in actually don't take the course- got in other school or whatever, so sometimes people get accepted later. It happened to someone on the thread that Kuklara was on when she was in our position.

Also, I understand that they prefer those who have all thier prereqs AND coreqs complete (especially sciences) because the program is so intense that they don't want you trying to do the course and APII or Micro etc.

Take your APII this semester and any coreqs - engII, PSY, Humanities etc.. and apply in March for fall.

I had all my prereq and coreqs done, exept Micro wich I am taking now. If you have co reqs to do, use the wintrim session if you can.

Don't Give Up. also.. read some of the older threads on NCC entrance. I learned more from watching threads from those trying to get into this past Sept class than from anything I got in the info sessions.

Thanks for support. We will keep trying, and if it will not be Nassau, it will be some other school. I just was ready for a change and it didn't happen, it just will take longer....
