Nassau Community College : Anyone Applying for Spring 2011

Looking for anyone who is applying to NCC for Spring / January start ( or anyone else on the road to applying) who wants others in the same situation to go through the process with.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

My GPA with JUST prereq is 3.88. I have all prereq and co req done except micro - which I am in now, with 95 average. As of now (without Micro) average is 3.95. If they use the total GPA with all classes ( including the unrelated courses from years ago ) 3.93.

I spoke to my bosses from my bar job last night, and they told me not to worry. If I get in the late classes, I can open late. ( Love these people!!) So, that just took a load off my shoulders. I sure hope I get the letter soon. (You know how it is) If I don't get in, I will load up on classes that I can use to transfer for my BS later, so it won't be the end of the world. But of course, I would rather get the AS sooner, and work while I go for BS. Have you thought about continuing for BS after graduation?

Happy Thanksgiving Fellow Applicants!

Thanks to Transfikst for the info on the mailings. About Micro in the Summer - I took APII in the summer = It was tough, I didn't see the sun for 5 weeks, BUT- I got through- got an A and was glad I did it. I am in Micro now, and find it a bit easier than API or APII. More MEMORIZATION ( think AP Lab) less thinking ( think Physiology). If Memorization is your strong point - you should be fine. If you study every day, should be ok. But keep in mind, every professor is different (as we know). Hope that helps.

Do they still offer night classes once in program or is it just daytime?

Hello NYStudent !

I am pretty sure that if you put DAYS on your application that is all they consider you for. I do think I read somewhere on one of these threads that they let someone transfer from days to evenings, but it's rare. ( and not sure if it was in 2nd or 3rd semester).

how do you find nursing classes? do you find it harder then a&p2 and micro or on the same level?

By the way , they mailed letters today. So tomorrow or after tomorrow it will be in your mail box!

I havent started nursing classes yet I am waiting to get into a nursing program - I am in MicorBiology at Farmingdale right now.

I can't remember what I applied for I think I applied for Days and or nights... Doesnt matter to me I just want in :)
