I have recently been put on the waiting list at Napa Valley College. I am wondering if other students out there are in the program, or have gone through it before. My questions are how is the program? And, how long did you wait on the waitlist? They say it is about 2 years, but I am wondering if it is less than that? Any info or advice is helpful. Thanks!

Napa Valley College is the WORST SCHOOL!!! If I were you I would look elsewhere to get your education because your not going to learn from NVC. You should stay away and tell your friends to stay away too!!!:angryfire:no:

I've had a few friends go to the NAPA program and they disliked it very much! A few other friends preferred the Solano program instead. I plan to apply for both, so whichever school I go to for the program then that is where God wants me to be...:)
hmmmm. I guess if it's that bad I can swith over to Solano. I'm in that school in Aug 2011. Good Luck to you and thank you for responding. I know for the first semester at Napa they have hired a new teacher. She was a student there and now has been an RN for 6 years and teacher first year. We
ll see.

I heard Napa has new teachers as well. So, I am hoping for the best. I am taking classes at both Napa and Solano starting next month to get my pre-reqs out of the way. You took most of your pre-reqs at Napa?
No I took all mine at DVC in Pleasant Hill. I have been applying for over three years to all the schools and this is the first one I came up on after being on the waitlist fro two years. :) How are the teachers now for the pre-req's at Napa? I took Pharmacology and Nutrition online through Solano and loved both instructors.
I was willing to drive all the way to pleasant hill to go to DVC...:) I will be going this summer to both napa and solano schools...and I will definitely let you know then. The good thing is that I am a veteran and Napa and Solano has preference for the classes and as well as on the wait list, so I need to get my pre-reqs done, but I don't want to overload myself. I posted another thread on this forum asking for advice with my classes for the fall semester, but the majority of the replies suggested I take a light load while taking my science courses...you have any suggestions on how to tackle on the pre-reqs without hurting myself? lol...I don't know if the pre-reqs at DVC is similar to Napa or solano but Eng, anatomy, physio, and micro are the pre-reqs. I am taking chem during the summer, plus 3 addtional GE classes. I won't be working and focusing on school...so, from the replies I received they suggest...
Fall 2010
anatomy or micro (just one)
statistics
speech
english
you think I can add or take away a course? any advice would be great!:)
I have three kids under 6, so I never took more than one science. But I did take a science, english (online) and speech once semester and it was just fine. But I also took a C for the science if that says anything.
I have 2 boys a 9 and 3...hyper...very hyper... I'm usually the one taking care of them while my wife is going through Pharmacy school. We will have extra help when I go back to school...but this will definitely make me want to reconsider my choices on the courses to take...thanks!
Good Luck

I just finished my first year at Napa and it's not that bad. Some of the teachers are difficult to deal with, but they're tolerable. I just look at is as a challenge and another hoop to jump through before reaching my goal. If you just take it one step at a time and work hard you can do it. Come in with a confident and positive attitude it makes everything easier.
Also it is true that a lot of new teachers are coming in. One of the 2nd semester instructors is now Dean of Nursing for the program so her teaching slot will be replaced. There are also a few other instructors that are retiring this year as well. I don't know much about the incoming instructors, but I know that the new Dean of Nursing will do her best to better the program.
