Hey guys I didn’t see a thread for Napa Community College (NVC) and wanted to start one. I was looking at the website and realized that it says “random selection” has it always said this because I swear it was first come first serve. Anyways if anyone finds out or wants to ask questions here come chat!

Hey everyone! I didn’t get in, and I’m a little heartbroken but I submitted my waitlist application. Maybe someone will decline their seat before the start of class. To everyone else who didn’t get accepted, you’re not alone! We’ll all get our licenses one day. ?

I’m heartbroken I didn’t get in either but there’s hope. I also submitted my waitlist application. 
 

does anyone know what they mean by  you’ll get “accepted according to the date and time that your application was mailed” does this mean like the original application?

They might have been referring to the alternate application

I thought so too but then I feel like they would’ve said emailed instead.

For those who did not get in: Per the letter that was sent to many applicants who were not accepted but met criteria, decisions were apparently made on a competitive basis using an unknown criteria, possible based on times applications were submitted. From this letter, it is apparent that NVC did not abide by their posted application criteria (they did not randomly select applicants). This is a violation of NVC’s non discrimination policy. Because the means of selection was unclear, it is possible discrimination could have occurred on the basis of a protected class.

Can someone tell me how you were notified? By letter or by email?

I haven't received any information yet on the status of my application, but I am assuming that I did not make it at this point.

She is the Admissions and Records Officer & Health Occupations Admissions Coordinator, her email is [email protected] just in case…
