Napa Valley College (NVC) 2023

Hey guys I didn’t see a thread for Napa Community College (NVC) and wanted to start one. I was looking at the website and realized that it says “random selection” has it always said this because I swear it was first come first serve. Anyways if anyone finds out or wants to ask questions here come chat!

My cousin just graduated from Napa’s nursing program last year; she says to get ready for more computer issues we haven’t seen nothing yet!

That’s ridiculous! I’m sorry you had to go through that. October 3 sounds like a loooooooong time, considering the app was only extended by a week or so AND the fact that they are choosing by “lottery” system this year. Meaning, no applications to categorize by point based system. I mean, it just seems like overkill. 2 months to decide which applications are acceptable? Ridiculous.

Ridiculous indeed! I have applied to too many schools, spent so much money with mailing applications and ordering transcripts this lottery pick is insane… I graduated in 2015 and still trying to get in a program ?

Hi! Just curious as to whether or not anyone has heard anything back? 
I know they said we would “most likely hear something back the week of Oct. 3” and it is barely the first day but the anticipation is killing me. ?

By chance did you hear anything during the wait? The nursing department contacted me twice regarding my application; I thought that was extremely odd and so did the nurses I currently work with.

No, I did not hear anything from them.

I tried sending you a private msg but it wasn’t sending ??‍♀️ first time I received a call letting me know I didn’t meet the requirements ?they were totally wrong… I met with a counselor several times and from several different schools-second time they called asking me how many times I had applied to Napa ? I wrote very clearly and most definitely legible on the application, nonetheless question was how many times I had applied and what was the outcome ? excuse me wtheeeeeck the outcome was I didn’t get in… I didn’t even receive an email informing me that I was or wasn’t accepted. 
 

Napa’s nursing department says applicants are chosen by “lottery” yet the verbiage they use is “randomly  selected” ?super confusing for us and is ILLEGAL for them to do if they are indeed “randomly hand picking” applicants…

I am hoping and praying that the fact that they’re looking that hard into your app gives you more chance of getting in. 
 

but that whole thing does sound kind of strange.  Like why would they ask what the outcome of you past app was as if you weren’t applying because you obviously didn’t get in that one time…

Exactly! I asked if the October 3rd was indeed the date I can expect to hear from Napa whether accepted or not; she said yes and maybe sooner but they were still going through the applications that there were so many it was overwhelming.

Well it’s the 3rd… nothing yet! So freakin anxious I can’t stand it. Hmm ? maybe their systems are down again!?!

Ps. So many applications because of the deadline extension what did they expect-I know several co workers that applied just because of the extension

I was STUNNED that they not only extended but they extended it by almos a WHOLE MONTH. That’s INSANE.

From what I read on another post, last year they had over 200 applicants and that was the regular deadline so I cannot imagine how many they got this time around.

Yes 200 is right and my cousin got in the first time… 23 years old and never had to apply anywhere else! She said the entire time she was there it was a *** show-excuses for everything and no accountability. 

Look how desperate we are wanting our license so **** sad how schools play on that… especially Napa?they be switching up merely because they can!

Some people are sooo lucky. I’ve known people who have been trying for 3+ years and others who got in on their first try too. 
 

all we have left  is to wait and I guess we aren’t hearing back today.
