My TEAS score...good enough for Hudson Valley Community College?

Published

Hi, If anyone who got into the ADN program at Hudson Valley Community College could reply. OR anyone with advice.

I'm trying to get into the ADN program at Hudson Valley.

The letter from Hudson Valley states 25% of the applicants that the meet the minimum prerequisites and that take the TEAS test get accepted to the program. It also states that your score on the test will determine your ranking for admission. One lady at the dog park said it is VERY competitive. An admissions lady said STUDY, STUDY.

My high school classes met the prerequisite requirements for biology, chemistry, and math. I have a History BA from 2004. I took Biology I and II in the Fall of 2002 and the Spring of 2003, so it has been a while since I've had a science or math class.

I studied really hard for two weeks for the TEAS. I used the Mometrix and Kaplan study guides. I took the TEAS test this past Saturday. The reading part was not the easiest for me. I couldn't focus on the computer screen while reading those long passages. It was my first section of the test, and I believe my nerves got to me. :(

Here are my results. Are they good enough? Do I have any chance of getting in?

Reading: 76.6

Math: 84.4

Science: 85.1

English: 83.3

Total: 80.7

Is the TEAS score their only criteria when selecting their 50 students for the program?
