Hello all, well, made it through my first week of orientation. YEAH!!! It was mostly classroom, no clinical, reviewing policy and procedure, documentation, delegation, and etc etc. Oh yeah and BENEFITS selection!!! Tons of info for the new nurse, an overwhelming, yet humbling experience. Just wanted to drop by and say "HI". Good luck to the rest of us who are starting our new careers as nurses. Notice I said "we" because a nurse is a nurse is a nure, we rock together and are here to help each other. Hmmm, I wonder if being on the floor is like the wonderful world wide web of allnurses.com? :chuckle God bless us all... Take care. :rotfl:

I truly wish that was true. Ummm, keep us posted weekly okay? I am still job hunting and would like to know what actually goes on during orientation.
Good Luck!

congratulations :balloons:
just remember that nursing school is one thing but you don't really start learning till you are out of school and in the "real world" - so don't be too hard on yourself. it takes time to learn, you do the best that you can, and no one is perfect. ask questions and make sure you understand what's expected of you. oh, and have fun as well.
good luck.

Nice to hear that Cyn did great on her first week. I will start orientation on the 26th at Medical Surgical ( Pre and Post Op) and I am both excited and scared. Don't know what to expect. I hope it won't be too bad. Hope everybody is doing ok as well.
Cheers,
