My NCLEX advice

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

The first time I took the NCLEX I failed with 265 questions. I studied Questions out of the Saunders cd that came with the book. That was the only thing that I did.

The second time I took the NCLEX I passed with 75 Questions and felt like I aced the test. I took Kaplan classroom anywhere online course. I also bought the Lacharity book. I reviewed the Random Facts thread. I memorized pneumonics for lab values and infection control.

***I know these topics below have been discussed already but I don't think some people understand how important and easy to learn the first 3 listed below really are. It really Helped me a ton!

***It is a must to know your infection control!!! Memorize and understand the mnemonics (MY CHICKEN HEZ TB,SPIDERMAN,MRSWEE,VCHIPS). Infection control will be on the test!!!

***It is a must to know your LAB Values!!! Their is a chart somewhere in these threads with Lab Values. Come up with your own mnemonics for these. Lab values will be on the test!!!

***It is a must to know Priority, delegation, assignment!!! The Lacharity book is great!!! I only did the first half of the book(you will understand when you have the book). Management of these will be on the test!!!

***I highly recommend taking a review course. I took Kaplan and loved it. The test is very much like Kaplan. Even the colors and the way the questions were set up were the same. Not the exact same questions but I think you get my point.

***Lastly, I highly recommend reviewing the Random Facts thread in the sticky notes at the begining of the nclex thread. I did not make it through all of them but found them extremely useful. Great to the point info in these.

I hope this helps and good luck
