On 1st of October NMC is going to decide whether to rise the annual fee or not...
Is this for an annual renewal or to join the register? The NMC will usually write out to you to let you know in advance that you need to renew and you can do that online which is must quicker than any other method.
If your friends have just joined the register for the first time then I understand why they would be sending paperwork early as all paperwork must be scanned and uploaded and it can take a while to process.
I have not heard of any changes to renewal as far as I know but I l remember when uni sent my details to the NMC and some people suffered delays etc. Remember the NMC gets thousands of applications so it can take a bit of time so its good to get in there as quick as possible.
Aside from required academic ielts score, there will be a test of competence. It consist of computer based multiple choice examination which will be administered by pearson vue in various global sites. After successfully passed the multiple choice examination, applicant should undergo objective structured clinical examination which will be held initially at University of Northampton in UK.

They're trying to beat October 1, 2014. I'm just clueless why they're trying to send in their applications to NMC before said date.
Does anyone here have an idea?
