I did a search, and metabolife has only been mentioned once in 2005. Previous posts about this were from back when it had ephedra in it.
I hear that it doesn't have ephedra in it now.
A friend of mine is starting to take this. Says its safe, she wouldn't take anything with ephedra in it, etc. She said it gives her energy, lowered appetite, etc.
As a nurse, I am suspiscious of any supplement. you just don't knwo whats in them, what it will do to you, etc.
So I did some online research, and it was hard to find anything current info about it. FOund people who said it didnt work, it did work, apparently the ceo of hte company is an unethical bum, etc.
Do any ofyou know about metabolife these days? Safe or no?
THanks!

Like anything, i check with my doctor, and i don't reply on others' word for a supplement or medication. What may work for one person could do harm to me.

Marie is right. Check with MD.
IMO, NO supplement is safe. History is a good reflection...supplements are yanked off the market all the time for one reason or another. They screw with your metabolism, most people gain wt when they quit.
Best way to deal with wt loss is the natural healthy way, no supplements, no crash diet, and some therapy to become comfortable with one's own body image...which is really the underlying prob.
And if a person already has health probs due to being overweight then it is down right dangerous to take anything without doc consult. Most docs won't reccommend them...hence why they are sold OTC.
Is Metabolife FDA approved? Even if it is...look at ephedra. Most people were convinced that was safe when it was on the market you know...
Just my two cents for what its worth
And even the things that ARE FDA approved get yanked. Which i'm thinking, if an FDA-approved product can get yanked, it makes me wonder just how dangerous the non-FDA approved products can be.
