My First Subpoena

Published

I just got my first subpoena! It's for a patient who was brought in by law enforcement for a blood draw. I'm kind of nervous. Any advice?

Well, the defendant pled guilty -- on the first day of the trial. So I'm home free this time. Thanks again for all your help!

I'm glad all worked out well for you. Depositions suck! I have had the pleasure of giving many depositions over the last 10 yrs,.never once have I actually had to go to court. They have video taped the deposition many times though.

It amazes me how a good attorney can make you second guess even your most basic of pt cares. They can turn things around and re ask the same question so many times that you don't know what you did or why! I learned a long time ago that "I don't recall" is a great answer,.and usually truthful in that all my depositions have been on pts I've cared for 3yrs ago or longer!

Glad it all worked out for you! BTW just for the record,..never once has anyone even asked if I brought my purse with me,.let alone asked to see something inside it!
