My first job interview: they said they'll flag up my application.

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Hi, I had my first job interview last friday and the comments I received from the interviewers still leave me curious.

A certain hospital hiring nurses who have OR/theatre experience. Although i had no experience in OR, the agency unintentionally lined me up for the interview. (just a misunderstanding between me and the agent I talked to).

During the interview I told them that I had no OR experience, but I was able to answer their questions with confidence. And at the end of the interview, they told me not to be disheartened because they're really looking for nurses with theatre experience, and that even though I had no OR experience I've done well. They even told me not to worry because they will flag up my application for an interview that will commence this June they think will be appropriate with my experience as a ward nurse.

Does that mean that they liked me? Should I expect something? this is really bothering me for days now.

Penny for your thoughts.

Don't expect anything, but sounds promising that you might get another interview for a different position in the facility perhaps?

Yes, it sounds like they like you. Hopefully they'll call you back.

Be sure you send the interviewer a follow up thank you note, to help cement their memory of you & confirm your interest.

But, in the meantime continue your search
