Its amazing how fast things can turn around, just earlier today i posted about not having a job, but today i was offered an interview! I am so excited/nervous. My past experiences with interviews have been laid back and not taken very professionally. For example, for my SNA job the Nurse manager was listening to the radio and said i looked like a good fit. I want to do my best in this interview. I am not sure what questions they will ask, but i want to be prepared. My interview is Thursday afternoon. The interview is at a retirement home. I dont have any experience working at one, so I am guessing they will aske me why I want to work at a nursing home, and since it is not my first choice i am not sure how i will answer. I like working with the elderly, I have patience and respect for them, but besides that i dont know how to respond! I would really appreciate help with this!
thanks!

If it were me I would give a story of one of your elderly family members. I would either go with how they were treated poorly and you never want to treat anyone like that or how they were treated phenomenally and you want to strive to succeed that.

I worked at retirement home , I loved hearing the storys they told of the past , I just told them how much I loved talking to my grandfather . I would say the same thing when you in. Remember talking to you graddaddy
On a side note (sorry i seam to just go on and on Hear ) you will be in for a fun day working at a retirement home . I will never Forget leaving work one day and seeing mr. X driving down the road in his wheelchair go 5 mil per hr in 45 zone .. Oh that was a fun time ! Have you ever seen a wheelchair roundup ?
And then there was miss x this poor woman never knew where she was and every day she would come down put money on tables and then leave (she thought she was at a restaurant ) I then had go pick all this money up befor I got taken and put it back in her walker . She also would try to leave and we where always trying to chase her down ( he family did not want her in the locked unit) but sadly on day she made it out . I was later told they found her a day later way down the road behind a store.
I loved the older people but the place I worked at was a mess , rats , roches , the staff even had a pet mouse that lived in the brake room "he really was tame and would come out and sit in the middle of the floor and wait for us to feed him " sadly he jump into the surp and drowned (but man what a way to go ) I left a little after that after I was attacked ( atempted rape more then one try) at work by a coworker .
