My first day

Today was my first day as a home health nurse.

I only did the orientation thing but tomorrow I go out to see pts.

I'm really looking forward to this new part of nursing.

I'll be hanging out here a bit more these days.

Hi,

I'm supposed to begin Home health and later Hospice tomorrow. Any words of wisdom. I just left a Med. surg floor after three years. I was surprised how many of my co-workers said you will hate it, you will be back, and have you ever done it before. Good luck Rusty. I just joined and can't post a new thread so I'm jumping on with you since you are new also. Good luck and I'll be watching.

Sorry Nance. You may want to read a few more posts on the home health section. I believe Rusty has another job. Home health is not easy. If you can master the paper work, you'll be fine. It's a different kind of stress than hospital nursing, but definately not stress free. Good luck.
