I have a friend who will graduate ASRN in 2011. She also holds a CNA license. It was revoked in May. She is unsure why and has not persued an explanation. Beforehand, she acquired a computer in Wal Mart that she wrote a check for. She later cancelled the check and still kept the computer. And this was an out of state transaction. She lives in Florida.
Also in the summer of 2011, she got arrested for DUI and felony drug possession (first time). She failed urine drug test, failed the field test, and had witnesses to attest she was swerving. She paid 5000 to her lawyer hoping he will "make it all go away". But I don't know how much this can be cleared. She plead not guilty and is taking it to trail. She doesn't think she'll be able to be a RN with a felony drug possession on her record.
She has not informed her school that she was arrested but it is clear in the manual that this is required. This happened in the summer and she will graduate in December. She has not taken her boards yet and her case is still pending. What can she do? How can this be resolved?
P.S: She also has 42 charges but most misdeamoners and nothing as serious as this. She was able to attend the Nursing Program with them.
