why is there muscle weakness in patients with CVA?

i have a patient with CVA and i need a backround knowledge regarding this diagnosis. i just want to find out why there is muscle weakness related to neuromuscular impairment in patients with CVA.. pls site the reference.. thank you :)

You just answerednyour own question!!!! Neuromuscular impairment due to brain damage! Now you should go do your homework! You can google stroke and you will read a lot on it, check mayo clinic's website as well, that's the only way you learn!

ok Franzelin, thats truth you have answered your question. the simple thing is when blood supply is cut of from the brain it result in a stroke. if the part of the brain that control motor sensor is damage then there will be no limb movement or weakness in the limbs which am going to assume that you are calling the muscle weakness. ( google stroke association and go to information it may help clear things up a bit. good luck, I know i tend to understand something when some one shed some light on it, its good though to read and understand you won't ever forget it.
