The application for MUSC's Spring 2020 ABSN program doesn't open until July 1st, but I am putting some feelers out there to see who is applying and hoping to start the thread for this semesters admissions process.
Let me know! Happy applying ya'll!

Did anyone else’s acceptance say their deposit was due October 18th? This must be a typo right since I received the acceptance on the October 25th.
Yeah mine said 18th too but I figured it was a typo and still paid it.

Regardless of what anyone else says.....
BUY THE BOOKS AND READ THEM!!!
The program has been changing every semester and you won't make it if you don't have the books.
Omg yes! When do we know what books to get?
You will eventually get everything. You will go from nothing to everything overnight and be totally overwhelmed. Its insane. The list isn't there yet - but keep looking for it. It should be up soon. For Lippincott - there is a website where you can get a discount. I'll repost once the book list is up and make sure it links to the MUSC discount site. I have to admit, I started out wanting paper books, but now - its so much easier to tote my ipad around instead of all those books. I think the only books I really like to have are the NANDA book and the Davis Drug guide. Those are nice to have in front of you 1st semester.

Here is the course schedule too. Currently N1s (1st semester students) have class all day Mon and Tue and then clinical and lab the rest of the week (which will change based on your assigned groups).

The most important thing right now is for you to decide on a planner system. Paper, digital - you need something that you can rely on. No matter how digital I am - I have both a paper and a digital planner. I use a planner that I make as well as a program called iStudies Pro. It works with my iCalendar and doesn't let me forget anything. I set reminders a few days ahead so I can make sure I get stuff done on time. Other people just use a spreadsheet or google calendar. I can flip a lot faster with paper, but digital is always with me (who am I kidding - I ALWAYS have my planner even if its just in my car on my way to the grocery store. I may forget my purse, but I will have my planner!)
You won't get access to Harbor (where all the courses are) until 48-72 hours before class starts. As soon as it opens - print all your syllabus' and write everything in your planner in PENCIL. I color code mine and put dots on my books too (to help me keep things straight) - ie everything for Foundations is in Green, Health Assessment is Pink, Pharm is blue... etc.
Don't buy everything pinterest tells you to buy. I have used: index cards, Papermate colored pencils, Bic Gelocity colored pens, a pack of metallic markers and erasable highlighters. I use my printer quite a bit - get one from staples for $50 on sale - totally worth it. A good backpack is essential and comfortable shoes to walk in. A water bottle. A laptop or ipad (we had to have a laptop for ATI testing, but I heard that they were switching to HESI, so you may be able to get by with just an ipad).
FOLLOW THE DRESS CODE. Don't wear yoga pants. You will start out dressing nice and then you will slack off. Many of the ladies start wearing yoga pants and they aren't actually allowed in the dress code. They just issued another general warning last week so I'm sure professional warnings will start going out soon. Having said that - you aren't required to wear slacks and flats everyday either. Be comfortable. You sit for HOURS.
The rules are changing. Just because you hear that the cohort before you did it - doesn't mean that you should, could or can.
