MUSC DNP Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Anyone here applied to MUSC Fall DNP program for their FNP track? I'm anxiously awaiting their decision and would help to find somebody going through the same nail biting process.

taylorthompson, I hear that others have been accepted with all kind of scenarios, they really take the whole application into consideration. Your essay and references weight very heavily in the decision. As long as your nursing GPA is decent and you'll be done with your BSN degree by the time you start the program in the Fall, you have as good of a chance as anyone else. Hope that was helpful

ItsCatRn, I was going to post this today, I was doing the same thing, then I decided to call yesterday, I was told the letters will go out next Tuesday or Wednesday, the Dean has a final "look over" that she has to do before they can be mailed, she's in Liberia and will return on Monday. I was also told this by a friend from the BSN program, that after the letters are mailed out, they will tell you over the phone if you've been accepted while you wait for your letter to arrive, I haven't confirmed that with the CON so don't hold me to it. Hope this eases some anxiety for all, Best of Luck Everyone.

mcas, thank you so much for the update. I would have driven myself crazy if I didn't see anything

by early next week. I don't think I would want to call to find out if I got accepted or denied. If i'm out then it will be too heartbreaking to find out twice hahah. But it's great to know that we have an option to find out via phone without waiting for USPS. One more week guys! Let's hang in there!

Ugh, this wait stinks. I was hoping it would be this week. I wonder if we call now if they'd tell us. Haha

SCRN060584, you can try. If you do, let us know what you find out. =)

SCRN060584, try and let us know. I'm on first name basis with the administrative assistant at the CON, I won't try again. I will wait for my letter in the mail. I'm in the next state over in NC, so it should only take a few days even my snail mail to get to me. I have a 5 day stretch at work coming up, so I'll have plenty to keep me busy.

I called and asked about acceptances going out. By the tone of her voice, I decided not to ask about being told now.

mcas, I'm in NC too so maybe we'll here around the same time. Good luck to you!

Hopefully we'll both get in, and get to meet in the Fall, I'm in the Raleigh area, where in NC are you?

mcas, that would be awesome! I'm a little outside of Fayetteville in Raeford, NC. What program are you applying to?

I applied to the Adult Gerontology NP program, I noticed you applied to the FNP program. I'm not too far from Fayetteville, about an hour. I'm not sure if some of the beginning classes are the same for all specialties. Hopefully we'll run into each other somehow.

That would be great! I really hope we both get in so we can get a chance to meet!

That's good to know! This waiting game is killing me. I also called last week and from the tone of the voice of the person that answered the phone I could tell my call was a nuisance--I have been trying to refrain from calling again. It's just tough when I've seen other programs have gotten their letters already. If anyone calls this week at all please keep me posted! I'm going bonkers
